Terms of Service
Last updated: July 20, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Sooth. Please read them carefully. Sooth is a software tool for building and running automated trading engines — it is not a broker, an investment adviser, or a source of financial advice, and nothing in the product is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
1. Who we are & acceptance
Sooth ("Sooth", "we", "us") provides a hosted platform for designing, testing, and operating automated trading engines. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Sooth.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you, including any rules governing trading in your jurisdiction.
3. What Sooth is — and is not
- Sooth is a software tool. You decide which engines to run and which settings to use; the software acts on your configuration.
- Sooth is not a broker-dealer or investment adviser, and does not provide investment, legal, tax, or financial advice.
- Nothing shown in the product — signals, scores, narration, backtests, or simulated results — is a recommendation or a promise of any outcome.
- Past and simulated performance do not predict future results.
4. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your sign-in secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Paper trading
Every account begins in paper (simulated) mode with a practice balance traded against real live market prices. No real money is involved in paper mode. Simulated results are illustrative only and will differ from real trading, which carries costs, slippage, and risk that a simulation cannot fully reproduce.
6. Live trading (optional, at your own risk)
- Live trading is optional and off by default. It works only if you connect your own brokerage account and provide your own API keys.
- We store those keys encrypted and use them only to carry out the actions your engine decides on your behalf. Sooth never takes custody of your money, securities, or assets — they always live at your broker, in your name.
- Live trading involves a real and substantial risk of loss, up to and including the total amount at stake. You are solely responsible for every order placed through your connected account. We do not guarantee any profit, uptime, execution quality, or particular result.
- You are responsible for your relationship with your broker and for complying with your broker's terms and all applicable laws.
7. Subscriptions & billing
- Sooth offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are a flat recurring subscription. We never take a percentage of your trades or profits.
- Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
- We may change plan pricing or features with reasonable notice.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to breach security or isolation between accounts, interfering with the platform, reverse engineering it, using it to break the law, or accessing data that is not yours.
9. Intellectual property
Sooth and its software, design, and content are owned by us and protected by law. You keep ownership of the engine configurations and content you create. If you publish an engine to the marketplace, you grant other users a licence to copy and run their own private version of it.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data, price, or signal is complete or accurate. Trading is risky and you may lose money.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sooth will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any trading losses, lost profits, or lost data arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Sooth harmless from claims and costs arising out of your use of the service, your trading activity, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using Sooth and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we must restrict to protect the platform or other users.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Sooth after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Sooth's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The specific jurisdiction and dispute-resolution process will be stated here before general availability.
